Mel is an award-winning tech entrepreneur and media practitioner, with 20 years’ experience in TV production, talent nurturing and training.

In 2019 Mel launched Gritty Talent to deliver smart and scalable ways to support and progress under-represented talent in TV, Film and Digital. Clients include BBC, Channel 4, ITV Studios, ScreenSkills and Creative UK.

Previous to this Mel enjoyed a two decade career in TV/media with a range of network credits and leadership roles including Creative Diversity Lead at Channel 4 and running the BBC Digital Cities initiative across the UK.

Mel is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, and believes that smart technology - when designed with care - could be the key to creating more equitable and accessible opportunities in TV and Film.
