James Richardson
James Richardson is CEO and Co-Founder of amersia, building the infrastructure to integrate AI into professional creative work. Its platform, Woven, lets creative teams design, produce and operate across film, TV and branded content in a single workflow, and is now used by leading media companies, broadcasters, production companies, VFX and post houses. amersia's flagship proof of concept is Critterz, a family animation feature from the writers of Paddington in Peru.
He has done this before. Over 24 years he co-founded and built Vertigo Films into one of the UK's leading independent studios, helping to set up Vertigo Releasing, Protagonist Pictures, Post Republic and Automatik VFX. He has produced over 35 feature films, including Monsters, Bronson and Four with director Nick Love, distributed more than 50 others, and executive produced around 70 hours of high-end television including Britannia. Vertigo has a long record of giving new talent their first break, among them Tom Hardy, Gareth Edwards, Vanessa Kirby, Sofia Boutella, Nicolas Winding Refn and Issa López.
He is interested in what happens when world-class storytelling meets genuinely new technology: not AI as a cost-cutting tool, but AI as a creative and production revolution.
